Jessica is a Director and Registered Psychologist with over 14 years of experience providing counselling and mental health assessments with individuals and couples on all aspects of healing and wholeness, self-discovery, and relationships. As a a depth psychologist and psycho-spiritual nature-based guide, she is dedicated to guiding individuals and groups along their paths of soul discovery and embodiment. Jessica specializes in working with those experiencing distress caused by trauma and PTSD, childhood abuse and trauma, addictions, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship struggles, psychedelic experience integration, self/identity concerns, and spiritual or existential crisis. Jessica specializes in working with First Responder, military, and indigenous populations and has a passion for working with those seeking their truth, identity, purpose, meaning, and empowerment to access their greatest expression.
Jessica has spent over the last decade training in therapeutic models, such as EMDR, R-TEP, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hypnotherapy, Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Integration, Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Ecotherapy, Emotion-focused and other mindfulness-based models and techniques. She also has experience and training offering mental health assessments for those experiencing mood, trauma-related, personality, and anxiety symptoms, and considering diagnosis in these areas. She prioritizes assisting clients with increased understanding of functioning and impairments, and providing recommendations to inform therapeutic treatment moving forward. Jessica also provides assessments for current or former veterans seeking support with VAC medical questionnaires or disability tax credit (DTC) to access qualified benefits.
Jessica is passionate about offering walk and talk therapy for individuals and nature-based programs for groups at the Wholeness Program Centre near Elk Island Park. She is informed by her psycho-spiritual wilderness group guide training by the international leader in the field, the Animas Valley Institute, training in dreamwork, guided imagery processes, shadow work, self-designed ceremony, and nature-based practices. Jessica is the embodiment of one who “walks the talk” by prioritizing her own inner self-discovery and soul work for over the past decade while simultaneously deepening into her ancestral Metis roots by communicating with the natural world and learning traditional indigenous practices – all of which informs her approach and offerings to others.
Jessica’s personal and professional journey as a Registered Psychologist has unfolded against a backdrop of hearing persistent expressions of unrelenting distress and unfulfilled lives by those around her. She has been deeply moved by stories of dissatisfaction with mainstream society and its overreliance on ineffective therapeutic approaches that encourage conformity to unhealthy social and political environments and prescribed medications. Jessica hears the longing of people for direction, purpose and meaning in their lives…a connection, something real. The work that she does is intended to actively support people in addressing this void in their lives. Specifically, with fierce compassion, Jessica helps her clients identify and follow their mind, body, and soul threads and step into the river that runs beneath the surface of everyday life that will take them to discovering their truer selves.
Jessica is available Monday to Friday for day-time phone and video sessions for mental health assessments and counselling. Jessica offers in-person appointments upon request in the Wholeness Psychology Sherwood Park office or for walk and talk therapy at the Wholeness Program Centre.
